River Days

Celebrate one of Posey County's favorite traditions at Mt. Vernon River Days, returning to the Ohio River waterfront on September 11–12, 2026. This annual community festival honors Mt. Vernon's rich river heritage with two days of family-friendly entertainment, delicious food, live music, contests, parades, and activities for all ages.

Held in historic downtown Mt. Vernon along the scenic Ohio River, River Days brings together residents and visitors for a weekend filled with hometown charm and community spirit. Festival favorites include the River Days Parade, Boat Parade, 5K Run/Walk, pet parade, car show, talent show, food and craft vendors, children's activities, and much more.

Whether you're cheering on parade participants, enjoying live entertainment, shopping local vendors, or simply taking in the riverfront atmosphere, Mt. Vernon River Days offers something for everyone.
