One of Posey County's most anticipated annual traditions returns to the Mount Vernon Riverfront. Families, friends, and visitors gather along the scenic Ohio River to enjoy an evening of patriotic celebration culminating in a dazzling fireworks display over the water.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, enjoy the riverfront atmosphere, and experience an unforgettable night as fireworks light up the skies above Mount Vernon.

Annual New Harmony Golf Cart Parade & Community Picnic

Historic New Harmony presents an exciting new Independence Day celebration: the Lights of Liberty Drone Show.

On Saturday, July 11, hundreds of illuminated drones will take to the skies above the Atheneum Lawn, creating breathtaking patriotic images, animations, and displays choreographed to music. This innovative aerial experience offers a unique and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional fireworks while delivering an unforgettable evening of entertainment.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early, bring seating, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Historic New Harmony before the show begins.
