Historic New Harmony Guided Walking Tours
Historic New Harmony offers a guided walking tour of important and fascinating historic sites in New Harmony. It’s not all walking, however, as a tram ferries tour groups from site to site.
The tour begins with an informative tour of the Atheneum and a movie that gives a general overview of New Harmony and its history. The tour then continues through the town where it makes stops at both Harmonist and Owen periods sites such as the Lenz House, which was built by a prominent Harmonist family in the early 1800’s and is representative of the way they lived; the Granary, which is a fabulous building that has seen many uses over the years, and Thrall’s Opera House, among other fascinating stops.
