This class is for those who want an understanding of the entire ceramic process focusing on wheel throwing and ending at glaze firing. Participants will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays over three weeks to throw, shape, trim, add hand-built additions, and glaze objects made from cylinders and bowls. Beginners will focus on the fundamentals and advanced students will refine their skills and learn techniques to make larger and more complex forms.
Course fee includes individual attention/instruction for one person, basic tools, and 25 lbs of our “House Mix” clay, which includes studio glazes and firings. You make as many pieces as you like with the provided clay, and additional studio clay may be purchased. Additionally, students have the option of attending our “Maker Morning” open studio sessions for no charge while the class is in session to gain additional practice. (Note: Due to the holiday, we will not meet on July 4, and instead have the last class on July 6.) Artwork by: Jennifer Hillenbrand
