Creation Station
Creation Station as a place where art is fueled by imagination
Everything in the shop is hand crafted and most of it is locally produced by owner Rick Huffman’s family and friends. Rick, his sister-in- law and nephew do all the paintings. He does the glass etching. The sculpture is by a friend of his from Oakland City who recently did the big sculpture in the Evansville Airport. He sells wood turned bowls, vases and cutting boards from Mike and Patsy Hancock from Providence Kentucky, 100 percent soy candles from Mount Vernon, and his daughter makes all the jewelry.
Creation Station is also known for having the largest inventory of Dulcimers in the tri-state area.
New Harmony is a destination for Dulcimer artists and aficionados, holding an annual Dulcimer festival during the third week of October.
“Instruments are all hand crafted,” says Rick. “The elliptical shaped Dulcimers are by Bill Berg from Brown County. The hour glass shaped ones are by T.K. O’Brien from North Carolina. The teardrop Dulcimers are by Rick Gooden from right across the street at New Harmony Woodwork.
Stop by and check out their inspired mix of creative art works.
