Tillich Park

Created by Jane Owen, Tillich Park is a wooded glade dedicated to Paul Tillich, one of the most influential theologians. The park features a winding path through a grove of tall pines and a sculpture of Tillich by James Rosati. The pine needle covered path winds through a forest of Norwegian Spruce. Stones engraved with Tillich’s thoughts are placed along the path. Continue reading

New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art

The New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art is a fixture on Main Street that provides exhibition space for current Midwestern artists, a place where the general public can view contemporary art, and a gift shop where the paintings, drawings, sculpture, pottery jewelry and photography of many local artists are sold. The Gallery provides opportunities for artists, education and enjoyment for the public, and dialogue between the two through its exhibitions and occasional talks. Continue reading

Hoosier Salon

The Hoosier Salon is a Fine Art Gallery that was started in 1925 by a group of women who wanted to recognize Indiana artists. “We currently have seven exhibits during the year,” says Gallery Director Maggie Rapp. “They are usually three person exhibits, but we also do member exhibits and a holiday show with multiple artists. And we sponsor the annual First Brush of Spring Plein Air Paint-Out, in April, which brings artists from all over to paint New Harmony. Continue reading

Red Geranium

The Red Geranium has been Posey County’s, if not the Tri-State’s, premier fine dining establishment since 1964. It’s dinner menu has something for everybody, with its world class steaks and chops, seafood, chicken, and pasta entrees, all cooked to perfection. It’s weekly lunch and weekend brunch menus feature choices ranging from down home, midwest favorites such as biscuits and gravy to international favorites such as Mediterranean Pasta, Mexican-style Quesadillas, and traditional Brit staple Fish and Chips. The Harmonist Omelet, soft cooked with fresh chives, goat cheese and shitake mushrooms captures both the “New” and “Harmony” in a single dish. The wine list is excellent. Continue reading
